During the event more than 500 kids joined us to learn a little about living green and making all natural candles - each one poured his or her own tea-light that we then rushed to an ice-chest so they would cure enough for the kids to take theirs home after the event.

It's hard to thank everyone who helped, but special thanks go to Jennifer Jones of WFYI, who was our point of contact throughout the planning and the big day. Also thanks to Alex, Tina and Nevada Dolbeare, who joined David, Dan, Charissa & Bethany Catlin at our tent. Thanks to Diane Tuttle, who covered our downtown Franklin shop. Thanks to Zoe for allowing most of the family to see her dance recital on video this year, and to Tauria for being our videographer so we didn't have to miss Zoe's big event! Finally, thanks to our many customers and friends who encouraged and helped us prepare for the event, and to all the kids, moms & dads, grandparents and friends who spent time with us on Saturday. You certainly "let there be light" with your friendly smiles and stories. Hope to see many of you again soon!

Huge "Organic" Sale at our downtown Franklin Shop

As you probably know, we're committed to using organic products to make our candles, which brings all kinds of benefits like sustainability, soot reduction and support for local agriculture. There are also a couple of challenges. Organic products really do have a life of their own -- sometimes they get a little "overly organic" and wax crystallizes against the glass causing "snowflakes," or colors occasionally change due to variances of light or heat. The candles still burn beautifully and throw wonderful scent, in fact many soy candle manufacturers would still sell them as first quality. We're picky though, and although we often remelt these "overly organic" candles into new batches, right now we have a bunch on hand and thought it would be a great idea to offer them at a huge discount for our loyal customers during the month of June!

Here's the deal: All of our "overly organic" candles will be discounted 30% the first week. Whatever is left will be priced at 40% off the second week and 50% off the third week. Quantities are limited, and when they're gone they're gone, so stop by and take a look. Of course we'll still guarantee the burn quality of our candles and offer store credits on returned glassware, so this is a great chance to try a new fragrance or stock up on favorites.
